Miles In Between

Everyone comments on her full moon face (add the bald head and its a 3D moon!) and her chunky thighs.  Miles had already started slowing in the weight gain department at by this point, but she’s powering through.  Love those legs!

• Length: 26″ (66cm, 90th %ile)
• Weight: 17lbs-3oz (7.8kg, 99th)
• Head circ: 15.8″ (40cm, 25th)

Hazel was having diaper free time by the pool when our pediatrician (who lives at our complex) came down for her evening swim.  She peeked in on Hazel and immediately said “wow” and puffed out her cheeks and extended her arms to the sides as though to avoid massive girth.  She then told me we could be the poster mother & child for exclusive breastfeeding (many mothers here opt for formula as they believe it helps the baby gain weight).  We went in to the official scale today and confirmed what we all know. Hazel is a hefty girl, stout and hefty:

• Weight: 13lb 10oz (6.2kg, 95th %ile)
• Height: 22″ (56cm, 15th %ile)
• Head Circ: 15.5″ (39.5cm, 25th %ile)

We didn’t go to the doctors at 12 months.  Seems a visit to the hospital for a well-baby check often results in an unwell baby from the time in the waiting room.  We are scheduled to go when we are back in Austin.  In the meantime, we did a little measuring ourselves (height on the wall, weight at the airport luggage scale)

• Weight: 22 lbs (10kg; 30th percentile)
• Height: 30in (40th)

It’s official; Miles is no longer the big kid on the play-mat:

• Weight: 18lb 8oz (8.4kg; 15th percentile)
• Height: 28.5″ (72.5cm; 50th)

Doctor said he is healthy, and slow weight gain is probably due to his activity level.  I’m sure his (cube-like) feet are still in the 99th percentile

We took Miles for his six month check up today.  All is well, he’s still growing:

• Weight: 16 lb, 15 oz (50th percentile)
• Height: 27.5″ (75th)
• Head: 17.5″ (75th)

I guess our next measurements will be in metric!

We took Miles to the pediatrician today for his four month check up.  Looks like fatboy Miles is no more, although I think we had been suspecting he was stretching out a little.  Here are the stats:

• Weight: 15lb 1 oz (60th percentile) – doubled birth weight!
• Height: 26″ (90th)
• Head: 16.5″ (90th)

Just a little change from last time.

We went to the pediatrician this morning.  Miles got his first round of shots ,  and we got an update on his growth:

• Weight: 12lb 8oz (75th percentile) – up 5lbs from birth, that’s a 66% increase in 2 months!!!
• Length: 24″ (90th)
• Head Circ: 16″ (90th)
