A new development on the Miles side: he has discovered the index finger and its wonderful ability to indicate interesting things or press buttons.  When paired with the opposable thumb, it is quite dexterous at picking up small objects, especially for the purpose of delivering them to the mouth.  And also pinching mom’s arm while riding in the carrier.

The past week has been all about pointing at lights, fans, birds, and people (oops, this is considered extremely impolite in the Muslim faith…I think his baby blues get him out of trouble, though).  He loves to push the elevator buttons or those he finds on the food processor in the cupboard.  And his slow slow reflexes and unwaivering intensity while attempting to grasp a biscuit, which are successful with time, remind me how focused he is performing a motion I think of as second nature for the first couple times.  Amazing.
