Last week, we attended our first Indian wedding of one of Tim’s colleagues.  It was pretty interesting.  We arrived, climbed up on stage to deliver gifts and congratulate the bride and groom, ate and left.  Being a Friday night and with the wedding on the mainland, we spent double the time in the car than at the actual reception.  The best part was getting dressed up and seeing everyone else in their finest.

I was hoping to wear a sari, the most flexible garment size-wise, but it didn’t work out as my friend who was confident in dressing me was unavailable the night of the wedding (I did get to try them on, and oh they are beautiful!).  Still, my Bollywood shoes came in handy with the borrowed shalwar kameez (top – thank goodness she had one big enough!), bangles, earrings, scarf and even a bindi.
